Look At What The Stork Brought

On the tops of small village churches across Spain, the iconic stork nests can be found. And, in this lovely month of May as I end my travels for the day in Villar de Mazarife, I’m treated to not only the nests on the local church, but by storks themselves.

An early morning departure from León put me in town early in the afternoon and before most other pilgrims. After a 20+ km day in the sun, sitting at the café/bar in the center of this small town enjoying lunch and the quietness was a perfect way to gear down from my camino day. The treat of watching the storks on top of the village church was just a bonus.
